The number might not be very large but it is growing. I am even counting 101 style blog posts in contribution to open source.

Given the percentage of Rails or Ruby developers in India compared to Java and .NET , this is a healthy number and growing everyday.
So I think the situation for Ruby/ Rails word is still much better than any other technology or platform.</description>

Puneruby can be taken as the best example. The group has almost 500 members I believe. And yet absolutely no open source contribution. In fact, I can count Indian devs on my fingertips, who have made any significant contribution to ruby/rails world.</description>
