It is as Sunil says perhaps improving the overall web expereince making it more responsive (refresh speed!!), faster development and deployment and more importantly allows easy user generated content generation! Crowd sourcing the kind youtube and wordpress have made possible is a sure web 2.0 phenomenon. Yes it is upto anybody's imagination and innovaion to use it for business advantage. it will be interesting to hear examples of that!
