Hi

"Ilya Grigorik" post seems to be interesting. To my knowledge, I have seen Indian market and US markets, Ruby is very professional language, if you have linux background., Its a very flop in indian market. Indian market completely depends on microsoft/java/.NET these technologies and mostly supports windows and completely ignores Linux(Very few knows linux, they thinks its linux is cumbersome and complicated). Things are changed quite a lot in programming, to keep upto date in different ways , Dont know why Ruby is not popular when compared to Java, after all Java is not even a pure OOP. Its all politics in programming. Java people doesn't like Ruby. .NET people dont like java likewise. Ruby is different way of programming, if you think in Java way or .NET way thats where the problem lies, think Ruby in ruby way. Is there any framework that beats sinatra? Rails? etc. I have seen many indian companies managers dont bend or tend towards new technologies., they dont take challenges, probably it may effect their career, and still follows microsoft excel. It may hurt some people, but its the fact, we INDIAN's know mostly criticism. We didn't even have our own brand programming language, our own brand OS. still we criticize. Ruby is open source, ruby community only supports open source . we are not interested in supporting microsoft, even based on my understanding. this is the old quote from ruby community. So just program ...program....program. if you have any questions please meet in irc #ruby-lang , vamshionrails.

Interesting dialogue. I am wondering what the answers would be today a year and a half later (Dec 3, 2010). Seems like companies like EngineYard with prime VC will keep the Ruby train moving. Do you agree?
